We are thrilled to share that we have received a referral and accepted it. Ok, that is adoption-speak for: WE NOW HAVE A DAUGHTER! She is 20-months old and she is from a small town in the country-side of the Guangdong province. It is just north of the coastline of the South China Sea, and just west of Hong Kong.
We will name our daughter, Campbell (a family name - Marty's mom's maiden name), and she will turn 2-years-old on October 21st. The more info we receive on Campbell the harder it is to WAIT to pick her up. We just want to bring her home and nourish her to good health. She was found abandoned on the steps of the hospital in her hometown; they estimated that she was one month old at the time. She has been in the orphanage ever since, and is delayed in her development due to these severe circumstances. We firmly believe that God has led us to her at just this time to love and care for her as a part of our family.
But did I already mention the WAIT? Basically we are now waiting to get our Letter of Acceptance from China and Travel Approval. We've been warned that this could take 5-6 months. We're praying as hard as we can that by some miracle that God could make a way for us to pick her up by her birthday in October.
We still have a little ways to go to fund raise for our final adoption expenses and travel (its a 2-week trip). Let us know if you'd like to help us bring Campbell home! But mostly we just wait and pray. Would you also join us in praying for our little girl?
If you’d like to hear more about our specific needs or give to help with adoption expenses then please email Marty.Mullis@cru.org.
She's so beautiful!
