Brennan is Bilingual

He’s learning new words everyday (in English and in the local language)! He’s picked up some of the local phrases. About 3 weeks ago Marty and I had planned to go out on a date. A babysitter came over to watch Brennan for us. This young woman named Luo keeps Brennan a good bit and they have developed a very fun relationship. The interesting thing is that she does not speak much English. Luo can say a few basic phrases, but she mostly speaks to Brennan in her native language. This particular night Brennan was eating dinner when she arrived. So Luo sat down with him at the table. Out of nowhere he looked at her and said "What is this?" in an Asian language. He sat there pointing at his dinner and asked her again "What is this?". She answered and then he pointed at something and asked again. He continued asking her about 30 more times, laughing after each answer.

I have said this phrase a few times, but I had no idea that Brennan knew what it meant. It is so fun to see him learning new words and also become good friends with his babysitter. He may pick this stuff up faster then we do.
