A Little Sister for these Guys!

We have exciting news to share:

we are pursuing an international adoption!

For both of us, this was something that God had placed on our hearts individually, even before we were married. We believe that there is a general call for the “church universal” to care for widows and orphans in their distress (James 1:27a), but more specifically we believe God is leading us to be involved on a deeper level. Some of our reasoning is based on our personal experiences ministering in East Asia in the past, and seeing the vast need for children who need a “forever family” to show them God’s unending love, care, and protection.

The need is especially great among young orphan girls in China who have special needs, and that is the specific direction we are trusting God to lead us towards in this adoption. We are heartbroken for those little girls, and we trust that God has uniquely prepared us to care for another child with special needs through our recent experiences with Asher and his medical challenges.

 

How you can help

You might know that adoption is quite an emotional and financial undertaking. Therefore, there are two ways we would ask you to consider partnering with us:

Pray

Because there are so many unknowns on this journey and so many requirements that need to be met, we especially covet your prayers concerning our emotional and spiritual strength. Would you please pray for the tenacity to navigate this process with faith, wisdom, and diligence?
Other specific prayer requests:

• Our little girl’s health and safety.
• That God would be preparing her heart to be at home with us.
• That this process would display God’s heart for adoption as we consider that He gave His Son so that we could be adopted into His family! (Gal 4:4-5)
  

Give

The total cost to bring our child home is estimated to be $34,350. This amount includes everything from our initial application fee to the plane tickets for the journey to China and everything in between. Although we plan to apply for grants later, there are substantial upfront costs that are due now. We would like to invite you to help meet this need.
