Wow, the Lord has been so good to us! We have felt so loved and cared for through all of the trials of this year. We hope that all of you know how much we appreciate you and all that you did for us. We will confess that we have not been great at keeping track of everything to send out personal thank you notes to each person who did something for us. Hopefully all of you know that every single little thing was appreciated and helped us focus on taking care of our children.
Thanks for praying for us and for Asher’s medical care. We praise the Lord that his heart is fully repaired and functioning properly. His next visit with the cardiologist is August 2012! The holes in Asher’s trachea and esophagus were also fully repaired!
Thanks to our families for all your support and encouragement. We are so thankful for all the little things you did to help us through the hardest year we have ever experienced. We know this time was also hard for you, but you overflowed with great strength to be there for us. Thanks too for taking great care of Brennan all the times we were focusing on Asher.
Thanks for all the delicious meals that were made and delivered to our home and the hospital. We had such an abundance of food that we shared with the nurses and other families at the hospital. Thanks for the gift cards that allowed us to grab dinner “on the fly” and also allowed us to enjoy a few “Date Nights” without the children. I think we’ve had more than 40 meals provided for us this year!
Thanks to everyone who gave diapers, clothes, baby wash, blankets, gift cards, and so many other things. I so wish that we knew who sent what, but we got a little lost in all that was going on with Asher. We are so thankful for each and every gift.
Thanks for the phone calls, cards, emails, Facebook messages, blog comments, and text messages with words of encouragement and prayers for our family. Although we may not have responded we appreciate ever single time someone took the time to share a few words.
Thanks to Daniel and Mikel Bass who adopted Brennan for several random nights and took him to do fun things. Thanks also for the wonderful surprise of DIAPERS. The “Diaper Drop” was such a fun way to collect donations of diapers for Asher.
Thanks to Phillip and Lisa Todd who guided us through the process of caring for a sick child. Thanks for giving your time, advice, and help with “living” in the hospital. Thanks for reminding us of God’s goodness and reminding us to find our hope in Him. Thanks for taking Brennan in when our families were not available to care for him and loving like a son for the week he was with you.
Thanks to Hugh and Julie Jones opening your home to us and welcoming, not only us, but other members of our family. Although you barely knew us, you treated us like family. Thanks for your hospitality and concern for us and for Asher.
Thanks to Sarah Martinez for being a reliable source of medical information and for translating all the medical jargon we heard into terms we could understand for many months. Thanks for being available to answer our questions and for encouraging us to pursue thorough care from our nurses and doctors!
Thanks to our church, Capital Community for taking the time to get to know our family. Thanks for taking the time to pray for us when you did not even know us yet. Thanks for pursuing us and continuing to encourage us.
Thanks to our Pastor Leon Tucker and his wife, Renee, for visiting us several times in the hospital, praying not only for us, but WITH US on many occasions. Thanks for taking us out for a special dinner for Erin’s Birthday! It was great to take some time to celebrate God’s goodness with you during such a difficult time.
In addition to all these things, there were so many financial gifts given to help with Asher’s medical expenses! So much was given that we were able to help out two other Crusade families who also had babies with medical needs.
We hope that each and every one of you know that we are so full of gratitude for all that you have done for us. We hope that these words communicate just how much we feel. May God bless each of you for the sacrifices you’ve made and the time you’ve given to help us in our time of need.
What a fun reflection on God's provision on what could be seen by some as a pretty crappy year. God's plan is so much bigger than our earthly eyes.
ReplyDeleteI love that you took the time to stop and list all these.
To God be the glory!
